Gary graduated from West Irondequoit High School, earned an architecture degree from Cornell, became a licensed architect after a required three-years internship, and a dozen years later earned an engineering management degree from Drexel. Gary married Nan in 1983. They own and operate The Goddard School for Early Childhood Development in Bushnell’s Basin and have a son and daughter who are pursuing their own careers.

Gary and Nan enjoy their big Chihuahua, Dante, wildflowers and wildlife – including the many wild things that drive Dante wild because they live on, pass through, or fly over their property.
