Gary married Nan in 1983. They own and operate The Goddard School for Early Childhood Development in Bushnell’s Basin and have a son and daughter who are pursuing their own careers.

Gary and Nan enjoy their big Chihuahua, Dante, wildflowers and wildlife – including the many wild things that drive Dante wild because they live on, pass through, or fly over their property.
